The brushes in this software come preset with pre-defined parameters, but you can change them if you so desire. Krita Brushes have a variety of different brush types that can be adjusted for different applications. Krita Brushes are essential for digital painting because they are included in this software. As a result, you should be able to change the color as needed. And choose colorize mask.Then, on the fill_circle page, select the brush editor, and on the Hue page, toggle the F5 key to open the brush editor. Then go to the bottom of the layer docker. Generally this layer should be your line artwork layer. I mean the parent layer of where you want to attach your colorize mask to. To do this manually, you need to make sure that you have your layer selected. First we can use the manual method and second the automatic method. There are several ways to add colorize mask to a layer.
So by definition, Colorize Mask is a type of mask in Krita that we can use to add colors automatically to it’s parent layer. For now let’s focus on the Colorize Mask.
I will discuss about different mask types more in depth in another tutorial in sha Allah. You really don’t want to have a mask floating around without any parent layer, because in that state it will affect the whole image composition. So in it’s ideal state a mask should always be parented to a layer. Krita actually offers 5 different mask types and transparency mask is just one of them.Įssentially a mask in Krita is additional information that you can attach to a layer. In Krita however, mask is more than just that. Mostly masks in other application are greyscale images that we can use to control layer’s transparency.
You may already familiar with the mask concept in other graphic application. First let me explain quickly about the mask concept in general in Krita.
